Dear Parents,
The G4/5 have started their fourth unit of the year on January 13th 2015. The new unit is a Stand-Alone unit called "Journeys". The central idea is: Journeys we take can lead to discovery and develop new understandings. We will be working on the concepts of form, causation and connection. The lines of inquiry are: the journeys to different places, the discoveries of journeys and different places and the new understandings we develop. Our main language focus will be about places we can visit (during holidays) and the activities we do during those holidays.
Here is the vocabulary list of this unit. You can review the words with your child to ensure retention.
Bonne revision!

Dear Parents,
The G4/5 will be doing a Stand-Alone unit called "Places and Directions". The central idea is: knowing the locations and directions help us to communicate our needs. We will be working on the concepts of form and connection. The lines of inquiry are: the different places in our community and how the different places are connected to one another. Our main language focus will be about directions (how to go from one place to another and understanding when directions are being given orally).
Here is the vocabulary list of the places and directions we have learned so far. You can review the words with your child to ensure retention.
Dear Parents,
The G4/5 have started their second unit. Our current unit is a Stand-Alone unit called "Days of our Lives". The central idea is: Understanding how to balance our lives contributes to a healthy lifestyle. We will be working on the concepts of form, causation and reflection. The lines of inquiry are: daily routines, how activities and routine affect our lifestyle and being a balanced person. Our main language focus will be about time (how to say the time in French and how to ask for the time in French).
Here is the vocabulary list of the daily activities we have learned so far. You can review the words with your child to ensure retention.
Here is a video with flashcards of daily activities and how to say it in French. You can listen to the video to help your child with his/her pronunciation and to help your child retain the words taught in class. Daily routines

Dear Parents,
Our first unit of the year is an integrated unit called “Belief Systems”. The central idea is that Understanding our own and other people’s beliefs and values help us to respect each other. We will be working on the concepts of form and connection. The lines of inquiry are: the different belief systems and celebrations of those belief systems. In this unit, your child will learn about vocabulary and sentence patterns to describe the different belief systems in various countries, to talk about their own belief system and the celebrations that are part of their lives.
Here below is the vocabulary list for this unit. You can review the words and sentence patterns with your child to ensure retention.
Thank you,
Molavy
